The Thought of the New York Life

by Laura Hawn

Since she was small, my small sister has always wished to see New York City. She's seen it on television shows and movies, and she's longed to visit there herself. Unfortunately, she's never had the chance to. The thought of the city excites her to no end, though, so recently she started looking for jobs in New York City.

She searched for months, and just last week she finally got an interview for a really great job right in the center of the city. So she dressed up in her nicest clothing and went out for the interview. She loved visiting the big city, and she landed the job. She was so happy; she rushed right over to tell me.

In her haste, she forgot that she would need to now find a place to live and get moved in. I reminded her, and we did a lookup online for "NYC movers." We found one very quickly, then started to look for cost-effective places for her to live.

The costs in N.Y.C. for flats were ridiculous! Just to get in, my sister had to ask father to help her pay the deposit of two thousand five hundred bucks. The rent she'd be able to afford with her new job, but when she was moving, she had not started her job yet. Our dad helped her with the down payment and I helped her pack up her things. Then the movers NYC came and loaded it all into the van.

My sister was all smiles. This was her lifetime dream, finally come true! Finally, after many years of thinking about living in NYC she had made it there. Dad and I are so proud of her, and we intend to visit her frequently in her new place, once she is all settled into it.
